ZARRIELLO, MICHAEL S.

Michael joined Cain Brothers as Managing Director in the San Francisco office in 2011. Previously, he was Executive Director at Capstone Advisory Group LLC and co-head of the health care practice, specializing in financial restructuring advisory services for companies, creditors, equity holders, and third-party purchasers in the workout and financial communities. He led the restructuring of several health care service related businesses including senior living, hospital, and nursing homes. Michael has over 40 years of financial and operational experience.He was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Rural/Metro Corporation, the nation's largest Public Medical Transportation and Fire Protection Company serving 400 communities in 23 states; Managing Director at MTS Health Partners, a private equity and advisory firm focused on health care services; Senior Partner at Jesup & Lamount Securities, where he raised capital and provided merger and acquisition services to bio-technology, medical device, health care service and pharmaceutical companies; and Senior Managing Director of Bear Stearns Merchant Bank and Chief Financial Officer of the group. Other experience includes serving as the Chief Financial Officer of Avon's Healthcare Division, which included investment in skilled nursing facilities, alcohol and drug abuse centers, psychiatric centers, traumatic brain injury facilities, infusion therapy, and durable medical equipment, as well as serving as president of Retirement Inns of America, an assisted living business.
Michael holds a BS in Accounting and Finance from the State University of New York at Albany, a MBA from Farleigh Dickinson University, and a MBA/APC from New York University. He has been Board member and Audit Chairman of several public and private companies including the Bon Secours Charity Health System. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute Healthcare Committee and a member of the Turnaround Management Association.
