Managing Director, New YorkJill joined Cain Brothers in the fall of 2006 as a Managing Director focused on health care services. Jill brings nearly 21 years of investment banking experience to her clients and has spent the past 16 years of her career exclusively focused on health care dealmaking. Jill has worked with a wide range of companies - public, private, and not-for-profit - to accomplish mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and public and private capital formation. She has closed over 125 transactions, primarily involving health care services companies.
Jill began her investment banking career at Wachovia Corporation and went on to work in the investment banking group of Wheat First Securities, where she focused on public offering and M&A advisory work for clients, many of which were health care companies. Jill then spent three years as head of the 12-person corporate development group of PhyAmerica, where she led the M&A activity for this health care services conglomerate with revenue reaching nearly $1 billion. Having identified a void in the health care M&A marketplace for strategic and seasoned investment banking advice, in 1995 Jill co-founded her own investment banking firm, Townsend Frew & Co. The company was acquired in June 2004 by Edgeview Partners, a Charlotte, NC based investment banking boutique, and Jill continued to lead the firm's Healthcare Group after the acquisition.
Jill grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and currently resides in New York, NY. She graduated from Utah State University and received her MBA from The College of William & Mary.
