KRAUS, BETTE A.
Managing Director, New YorkBette joined Cain Brothers in 2009 and has had 26 years of experience as a senior banker serving a number of nonprofit health care clients nationally. She has worked with organizations ranging from single site community hospitals to academic medical centers to multi-state, multi-hospital systems.
She has provided a wide spectrum of services including structuring tax-exempt and taxable financings, optimizing credit presentations, creating obligated groups, negotiating with credit enhancers, executing M&A assignments, as well as working closely with clients on strategic and financial planning.
Prior to joining the firm, Bette worked for national investment banking firms for 20 years, including Goldman Sachs as Vice President, JP Morgan as Vice President and CS First Boston as Director. For five years, she had her own advisory firm, B.A. Kraus, and worked with major health care providers in strategically re-positioning their organizations. Before investment banking, Bette served as the Acting Chair of the Provider Reimbursement Review Board, which adjudicated Medicare reimbursement disputes on the federal level.
Bette received her BA from University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois and her MBA from DePaul University in Chicago. She is from Hawaii and spends her time between New York City and Vermont.
