Scott James is a senior banker in the Firm’s Capital Markets Group with a focus on post-acute care and senior living. Mr. James joined Cain Brothers in 1996 and has over 25 years’ experience advising not-for-profit healthcare providers in a variety of capital raising transactions. Mr. James has served as lead banker in connection with over $1billion of tax-exempt bond issues for hospitals, health systems, and post-acute providers, including Isabella Geriatric Center, St. Johns Senior Services, Inc., Unity Health System, United Health Service Hospitals, Inc, Braemar Assisted Living, and Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center. He is responsible for developing the Firm’s FHA mortgage insurance business and serves as President of Cain Brothers Funding LLC, which was founded in 2010 and has originated over $300 million of FHA-insured loans for hospitals, skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.
Prior to joining Cain Brothers, Mr. James was in the Public Finance Department of Chemical Securities Inc. in that firm’s Healthcare Group, where he focused on capital raising for not-for-profit healthcare providers.
Mr. James graduated cum laude from the University at Albany with a BS in Business – Finance.
