Cain in the News: Houston health services company acquired by India-based co.

Houston-based HealthHelp LLC, a specialty care management company that’s grown rapidly in Houston over the past two decades, was acquired by India-based WNS Ltd. (NYSE: WNS).

WNS paid $95 million for the Houston company, which works in areas such as radiology, cardiology and oncology, according to a release. The release did not state when the deal is expected to close. The deal is expected to add $2.3 million in revenue for WNS for its fiscal year that wraps up at the end of March.

“HealthHelp is pleased to join forces with WNS, an established leader in business process management,” Cherrill Farnsworth, HealthHelp’s CEO, said in the release. “We believe that together, our firms will be able to successfully address the rapidly evolving and expanding needs of the health care industry.”

HealthHelp was founded in Houston in 1999 and now employs around 400 medical and operation professionals in the U.S., per the release.

Cain Brothers & Co. acted as financial adviser, and Reed Smith LLP acted as legal adviser to WNS in connection with the deal, according to the release.

In 2015, HealthHelp announced it was relocating its headquarters into 40,000 square feet of space formerly occupied by Exxon Mobil Corp. (NYSE: XOM) at Four Greenspoint Place.

HealthHelp was named a Houston Business Journal Fast 100 company in 2013and 2012. The company opened a Katy call center in 2006 and moved it to Westchase in 2013. A second call center was opened in Albany, New York, in 2011.
