Boca Raton Regional Hospital Has Signed a Letter of Intent to Join Baptist Health South Florida
December 14, 2018
Boca Raton Regional Hospital (“BRRH”) and Baptist Health South Florida (“BHSF”) have signed a letter of intent to develop a strategic partnership. Both institutions have a strong and historical commitment to delivering high quality community-based healthcare, and the partnership will allow for continued growth and expansion of services to the Boca Raton and greater South Florida communities.
Cain Brothers was retained by BRRH as its exclusive investment banking advisor to assist BRRH through its partnership search process. After receiving proposals from some of the nation’s leading healthcare systems, BRRH first narrowed its list of potential partners in the Spring of 2018 and then ultimately selected BHSF for further discussions.
BRRH is an advanced, tertiary medical center with 400 beds, 2,800 employees and more than 800 primary and specialty physicians on staff. BRRH is a recognized leader in Oncology, Cardiovascular Disease and Surgery, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Orthopedics, Women’s Health, Emergency Medicine and the Neurosciences.
Baptist Health South Florida is the largest healthcare organization in the region, with 10 hospitals, more than 40 physician practices, 50 outpatient and urgent care facilities, and internationally renowned centers of excellence. BHSF has more than 19,500 employees and more than 3,000 affiliated physicians.
The two institutions anticipate finalizing the partnership in the first quarter of 2019, after signing definitive agreements, and closing by early summer.
